70 years after its debut, the historic Italian brand of pasta Ghigi 1870, is back as sponsor of a cycling team in the Giro d'Italia. Ghigi 1870 will place his logo on the front of the Giro special edition jersey of the #GreenTeam, providing also the whole-wheat pasta to all team riders for a balanced diet throughout the Giro. New partner of the Bardiani CSF Faizanè team is also BF Spa, the most important Italian agro-industrial group, which will be at the Giro with a logo on the official teamcars. The partnership between the two brands of BF Spa group will start Giro 2021 up to the 2022 season with a 2 year contract.
In the 1960s Ghigi was the third manufacturer of pasta in Italy, after Barilla and Buitoni, and in those years it was also one of the greatest sponsors in the world of cycling, present with its cycling teamcars at the Giro d’Italia and as main sponsor of its own team since 1958 to 1962.
After 70 years, Ghigi is back to cycling as a sponsor of Bardiani CSF Faizanè team, during the Giro d’Italia 2021. The brand of the historic Italian pasta manufacturer, today a pillar together with Bonifiche Ferraresi of the most important Italian agro-industrial group BF Spa, will be a new sponsor of the Bardiani CSF Faizanè special edition jersey at the Giro d’Italia. The partnership with Ghigi 1870 will be a 2 year contract, starting from Giro 2021, up to the whole 2022 season.
The commitment of BF Spa in the production of 100% Italian certified quality food for a healthy diet resulting from innovative and sustainable agriculture are the pillars of the daily commitment in all the activities of the Group. The logo of BF Spa – Best Field Best Food will be placed on the teamcars and on all the team’s vehicles in the next Giro d’Italia. BF will be partner of the team also for the 2022 season.

Ghigi 1870 will be a new sponsor of the Bardiani CSF Faizanè team in all the 21 stages of the Giro d’Italia 2021, placing his own logo on the front of the team jersey, designed specifically for the Giro. The brand will also provide to all riders the whole-wheat pasta, made entirely from an Italian supply chain traced and guaranteed, from the sowing time, to the mill, up to the Ghigi factory.

For Ghigi 1870 this is a great comeback. The first Ghigi cycling teamcar was in fact realized in 1951, exactly 70 years ago. Ghigi 1870 have been also a main sponsor of a professional team from 1958 to 1962, in those years Ghigi 1870 reached its production top level, becoming the third pasta manufacturer brand nationwide, producing over 220 quintals of pasta every day, with its 400 employees. After a negative period, in 2009 the history of Ghigi restarts from its own traditions, but with a new overlook to the future, focusing on special values as quality and the 100% Italian and guaranteed supply chain. Starting from 2019, Ghigi 1870 enters the corporate group of BF Spa. 2021 represents an important year for the brand with a new commercial network and with its great return to cycling and in the Giro d’Italia, as a sponsor of the most important Italian team, the Bardiani CSF Faizanè.
