187 km to ride, 18 teams on the start-line with a difficult road since from the first km. 7 riders per team ready to battle for the victory.
The 104th edition of the Gran Piemonte will develop on a harder path than the last editions. Bardiani CSF Faizanè wants to be the protagonist, on the 187 km that from Santo Stefano Belbo will lead to the final circuit of Barolo, a 44 km circuit to be repeated twice in a landscape of wonderful vineyards, but above all with road “walls” of a great classic to face . The final km will be demanding, with an average gradient of 5-6% with peaks of 9% right at the end.
7 riders selected by the team manager and Sports Director Roberto Reverberi. All-rounders and climbers to better face a demanding course. Giovanni Carboni, coming from growing performances in France, will try to improve the 16th place at Mont Ventoux where he was the second best Italian in the race behind Fabio Aru. Daniel Savini and Filippo Fiorelli have shown a good leg in recent Italian races and thus earn confirmation in a race suited to their characteristics. With them Filippo Zana and Manuel Senni also making good stages in Route Occitanie. Francesco Romano and Luca Covili will complete the line-up.
